For construction, we use high quality wood, mainly fir, due to the large availability of this material in the Bieszczady region located in our vicinity. After sawing, the timber is visually sorted and divided into strength classes, which guarantees that it has the declared strength class C24 confirmed by an appropriate certificate.<\/p>\n<p>All the wood used in the production of log houses is seasoned and then steamed and dried in drying chambers to a moisture content of 6 to 16 %. This depends on the cross-section and the intended use of the timber elements.<\/p>\n<h3>Mechanical wood processing<\/h3>\n<p>After the drying process, the timber is transported to the production hall, where it is processed on specialised machinery. This allows us to ensure the high quality of our product, which is log houses.<\/p>\n<p>Taking into consideration our technology of timber house construction, at the moment we can offer you rectangular logs of the cross-section 9 x 18 cm, 12 x 18 cm and 12 x 22 cm joined by double own tongue-and-groove, or semicircular logs (external view) of the cross-section 9 x 18 cm, 12 x 18 cm also joined by double own tongue-and-groove. In addition to the wooden logs used as building material for the external walls, the same production process is used to produce our floor joists, which are also a very characteristic feature of log houses. The material for the roof trusses is also obtained at this stage.<\/p>\n<h3>Pre-assembly of the house<\/h3>\n<p><strong>cutting, detailing, impregnation).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After obtaining the desired shape and cross-section of the log, we start the construction of the timber house in the production hall. Thus, your log house is first built at our company (you can observe the progress of the work in real time). Then we disassemble the house and sand and clean by hand all the visible elements, which gives a unique aesthetic to the log houses we make. This is followed by additional detail work on the building.<\/p>\n<p>Detail work &#8211; consists of cutting decorative ends of ceiling beams, eaves rafters of the roof and knot locks &#8211; the most characteristic elements of log houses that give them a unique charm. Due to their complexity, this work is mostly done by hand by experienced carpenters and joiners.<\/p>\n<p>Impregnation is carried out by immersion in special baths, the so-called &#8220;cold bath&#8221;. We use certified agents that protect the wood against fungi, mould, technical pests, delay ignition of the wood and are not washed out by water.<\/p>\n<p>The final stage of work before the finished timber log house leaves for the site is to protect all elements by thorough impregnation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>painting all structural walls and other elements exposed to direct weathering with specialised OSMO oils (one of the world&#8217;s largest and most reputable manufacturers of impregnates, oils and varnishes) in a colour chosen by the client (to be selected from the colour palette). This treatment completely eliminates the occurrence of discolouration, blue stain or other tarnishes on the facades that would spoil the aesthetic impression; it also limits the absorption of water by the wood.<\/li>\n<li>painting all structural walls and other elements that will remain invisible after installation with SIGMA impregnation. This treatment limits the absorption of water by the wood and also protects against biological corrosion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Assembling a log house<\/h3>\n<p>Once the foundation has been prepared (thorough horizontal insulation), a sill beam is installed and anchored to the foundation with approved steel connectors. Subsequent logs are then assembled and connected to each other along their entire length with double tongue-and-groove joints, and the whole is bolted together with steel screws. Depending on the architecture of the house, stiffening walls of the same structure as the external walls are also made The assembly process is quick thanks to the prior production process, where each element is described and prepared for assembly.<br \/>\nAfter the timber log house is assembled to a closed state, all visible elements and those exposed to direct weathering are painted twice by brush application with specialised OSMO oils. Thanks to the application of such extensive and precise technology of timber log house impregnation (initial impregnation at the production stage and final double impregnation after the house assembly) we obtain complex protection of timber without losing anything of the beauty and charm of timber houses because the oils applied make the unique grain structure of timber logs visible.<\/p>\n<h3>Insulating a log house<\/h3>\n<p>The timber log houses we build have walls with a U-value that meets the requirements of WT 21, so top-down they guarantee the energy efficiency and low energy consumption required by the regulations.<\/p>\n<p>U-values according to WT 21 guidelines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>roof U \u2264 0.15 W\/m2K<\/li>\n<li>external wall U \u2264 0.20 W\/m2K<\/li>\n<li>floor on the ground U \u2264 0.30 W\/m2K<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The fact that the house is built of wood further benefits the building&#8217;s primary energy requirement ratio. This is not taken into account in the current way of calculating energy performance where the ability of wood to store heat is completely ignored. However, in Scandinavian countries as well as in the United States, there are associations that have developed a different approach to the physics of wooden buildings. According to their research, already a 22 cm thick log wall will meet expectations in terms of insulation and primary energy demand and there is no need for additional insulation.<\/p>\n<p>Giving up additional insulation is particularly important for investors who would like to enjoy the decorative qualities of wood in the interior of their log houses. For such investors, we offer 24 cm thick glued log houses made with a different technology.<\/p>\n<p>Timber log house &#8211; external wall cross section description.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timber log with a thickness of 12 cm and a height of 18 cm, joined along the entire length with a double tongue-and-groove joint.<\/li>\n<li>Vapour-permeable foil<\/li>\n<li>Air duct &#8211; 2 cm<\/li>\n<li>Wooden posts 2x7x10 constituting a structural element and a grid for installing thermal insulation.
